Food Lover's Guide to Portland Book Release Party

A bunch of local foodies and friends braved the early July rain (!?!) to support the phenomenal Liz Crain as she unveiled her new book, the Food Lover's Guide to Portland, at a party last night at Fortune Tattoo on East Burnside. Naturally, the woman who spent the last few years of her life digging up the best of Portland's local food scene would organize one heck of a spread: Captured By Porches Brewing Company, Newman’s Fish Company, Cheese Bar, Pix Patisserie, Cork, Laurelhurst Market, Xocolatl de David, Hot Lips Soda, Hip Chicks Do Wine, and more. The gorgeous little space was filled with Liz's friends and supporters, and a lot of us snapped up our own copies of the new book. Be sure to check it out - it's filled with Portland's best bakeries, ethnic markets, food carts, meat and poultry shops, vegetarian food suppliers, drink purveyors, and a whole section on "Resources" including CSA's, cooking classes, books, Farmers' Markets, and food and drink events in Portland. It's sure to become a staple on a lot of bookshelves, and it'll be available at Powell's and lots of local stores. Here are some shots from the night. Congrats, Liz!

101 Cheeses at Ten 01

What: 101 Cheeses, or, “The Cheese Bar Spectacular: Moldy, Stinky, Cheesy"

Where: Ten 01, 1001 NW Couch, Portland, Oregon

Who: Adam Berger of Ten 01 and Steve Jones of Cheese Bar

Why: An opportunity to taste 101 of Steve’s favorite artisan cheeses, wine selections from Ten 01’s (absolutely amazing) Sommelier Jeff Groh, craft cocktails by spirits guru Kelley Swenson, and local beers on draft.

Enjoy the pretty, my dears.
